The Roberts Company Non Destructive Testing Services (NDT), now more commonly referred to as Non-Destructive Evaluation (NDE) is proud to list the following capabilities for customer service.- Visual Testing - The Roberts Company currently employs eight (8) American Welding Society (AWS) Certified Welding Inspectors (CWI). We have on staff. We can provide remote visual inspections using borescopes or video probes. We also have an instrument to measure the ferrite content of stainless steels.
- Magnetic Particle Testing - We have the capabilities to perform Magnetic Particle Testing in any number of situations to allow for code compliance while justifying operations over those of dye penetration.

Both visual and fluorescent types of dye penetrant test can be provided by The Roberts Company.
We use the ZETEC MIZ 22 portable eddy current tester to perform weld inspections, thickness inspections (particularly thickness of s/s clad on c/s materials), condenser & heat exchanger tube inspections. - Ultrasonic Testing -
We use Panametrics 26DL Plus for thickness measurements and Krautkramer Branson model USN 50 for weld and material inspections in addition to thickness measurements. Both units are capable of storing information (thickness readings and/or screen presentations) for later down loading to a computer.

We are currently licensed for Iridium 192 & Cobalt 60 gamma ray sources. We have two (2) Iridium 192 cameras from Source Production & Equipment Inc. model SPEC-150 both are capable of 150 curies of IR192. We can perform welder & procedure qualifications, weld & casting inspections, thickness measurement on in-service insulated piping (with no insulation removal required), cable & concrete inspections. We have two (2) mobile darkrooms and two (2) radiographic inspection crews. Each darkroom is equipped with manual processing, but we have a transportable automatic processor, AGFA Model Structurix NDT M, that can be installed in the mobile darkrooms for long term on site processing, as required.

We can perform either vacuum box or a pressurized bubble leak testing as well as Helium leak testing using a helium sniffer. - Destructive Testing -
We can perform pull tests for weld procedure qualifications up to 120,000 psi. We also have the capabilities of performing Charpy impact tests for cold service welds and procedure qualifications. We are capable of certifying welders at our Winterville office (capacity of four welders at a time). We also offer full machine shop capabilities to machine the reduced sections for the tensile pull tests and the Charpy impact test samples.
